The Thermal Remote Sensing Workshop is primarily an educational and networking opportunity, with invitations extended to scientists, researchers, public institutions, and private companies interested in learning more about thermal remote sensing and making new connections within the community.
In the last few conferences we heard many people saying that they want to start working with thermal remote sensing data, but don’t know how to. We have heard you! And so we secured funding to hold a workshop this year to meet the needs of our community. We have based the agenda on the questionnaire issued in December 2023. See the questionnaire results.
When: 2nd to 4th December 2024 + LST_cci User Workshop 5th and 6th December 2024
Where: Space Park Leicester, UK
The workshop is free of charge for participants. We only ask that you provide information on how your current or future work will benefit from attending the workshop.
The workshop is being organised in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) Land Surface Temperature Climate Change Initiative (LST_cci). The LST_cci User Workshop 2024 will be held on 5th and 6th December 2024 immediately after the Thermal Remote Sensing Workshop, in the same venue. There will be a cross-over session between the two workshops on Wednesday 4th December focusing on applications of thermal remote sensing, including LST. The LST_cci User Workshop is also a free event. The LST_cci project aims to provide an accurate view of temperatures across land surfaces globally over the past 20 to 25 years and meet the requirements of Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) for climate applications. Detailed information about the LST_cci project and the data produced by the project can be found at https://climate.esa.int/en/projects/land-surface-temperature/ .
We are looking for participants from research institutions, as well as companies. If you represent a private company and would like to present and/or have a stand at the workshop to advertise your business in our community, and are open to sponsoring our event, please contact us.
